After posting pictures of vehicles he worked on to his personal Instagram account, Charlotte technician Andrey Ryabyy took the initiative to start a Safelite AutoGlass Instagram account. After five months, the account has more than 700 followers and has become part of the company’s official presence on the social network.
While monitoring the account the marketing team saw great engagement with Andrey’s photos. Safelite didn’t have a large presence on Instagram, and the team asked Andrey to continue posting photos and turn his account into the official Safelite account.
“We’re excited to have Andrey involved on Instagram for Safelite,” said Bruce Millard, Director of Digital and Customer Experience. “He’s passionate about his work and that comes through in the pictures he shares.”
Andrey hopes the account can mesh the technical aspects of a technician’s work with the great design of automobiles and the photographic lenses of Instagram.
“Before if you looked up pictures with the Safelite hashtag, it was people posting random things,” Andrey said. “I wanted to kind of fill that space where anything that has to do with Safelite on Instagram is from the technician’s perspective.”
Most of the pictures Andrey posts are of high-end or specialty cars. That’s not by accident.
“I mainly work on high-end cars,” said the technician, who previously worked on an auto auction account in Harrisburg, Pa. before he relocated to North Carolina. “Those are people who are afraid to see their cars taken apart. Hopefully these pictures let them have a visual awareness of what we do and to let them know that we do this all the time.”
“In the future I would love to do little mini-clips of the day-to-day things we do,” Andrey said. “I’d love to get content from all over the country just to show how we do the same job nationwide. Maybe see a pic from Arizona in the desert and then something from downtown New York City. Just let people get a glimpse of what we do, nationwide.”
