Safelite’s Wall of Fame series is intended to applaud our employees who help us achieve our People Powered, Customer Driven business strategy. We’re so thankful they are a part of our company!
Today’s profile is:
Don Freeman, Warehouse Manager
Kansas City, MO
Don has performed at a high level over the past year, working to improve service and quality of delivered product to the locations in his market. Showing his dedication to being Customer Driven, he is willing to go above and beyond his daily activities to make sure customers are taken care of, even delivering parts after normal work hours if needed. He has developed an efficient warehouse operation, reducing direct labor costs in excess of 50% over the past two years. During this time, internal and external warehouse customers experienced little impact in their service levels. Don understands the business and it shows, with increased wholesale sales of 43.3% and only a 9% increase in total controllable expenses. He takes time to review monthly P&L reports and validate accuracy of the results. Don has provided stable leadership in a market that has experienced significant changes over the past three years. He demonstrates the core competencies we look for in leaders at Safelite. In an effort to reduce glass breakage and damage, Don led a modification of the Warehouse delivery vans. This modification involved integrating wood into the racks so that the glass would slide easier as they were being loaded and unloaded. He personally worked on the vans after hours and on weekends to ensure they were completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Congratulations, Dennis, for growing our customer base and our brand!
