One business unit owned by Safelite Group that you don’t hear much about is Service AutoGlass, which includes 92 warehouses across the country that is responsible for supplying vehicle glass to both Safelite AutoGlass and a many other glass specialists. There are thousands of nuances within vehicle glass parts, so making sure the right part gets to the right customer at the right time can be challenging.
Don Freeman is responsible for managing our warehouse in Kansas City, and in the last year, he’s improve both service and quality of delivered product to the locations in his market. Showing his dedication to being Customer Driven, he is willing to go above and beyond his daily activities to make sure customers are taken care of, even delivering parts after normal work hours if needed.
Additionally, he has developed an efficient warehouse operation, reducing direct labor costs in excess of 50% over the past two years. During this time, internal and external warehouse customers experienced little impact in their service levels.
“I like making others feel good about the help you are able to provide them,” Don says. “And I appreciate the way everyone here will pitch in to help. There are really no boundary lines when it comes to helping our customers… as long as it gets done. That’s all that matters.”
